Bear Creek Overlook

In October we stayed at the Trapper Peak Outfitters and Guest Ranch. The Lodge is ran by Outdoor Channel’s TV personality, Laramy “Sasquatch” Miller. Trapper Peak offers hunting and fly fishing guides where they aim to create lasting memories. “Sasquatch” and his wife purchased the Lodge in 2015 and have developed it into a go-to-destination for hunting in the Bitterroot Valley.

Trapper Peak Outfitters and Guest Ranch can accommodate 33 people overnight. The 5,000 square foot log lodge houses a dining room, guest suites and a great room with a impressive stone fireplace. We stayed in the bunkhouse, a building that reminded us of the old west. We appreciated the fact that it was dog friendly so Ginger could join us. The lodge also has a seasonal hot tub and a large deck.

While socializing in the lodge, Laramy pointed out the trail behind the lodge that has spectacular views perfect for our Landcruiser.

Bear Creek Overlook has amazing views of Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. We suggest hitting this trail an hour before sunset so you can experience the sun setting behind the majestic peaks.
